Bantam Privateers Take Care Of Business

The Bantam Privateers showed why they were the number one seed going into the playoffs by shutting out the Cornwall Timberwolves 26-0 in the other semi-final game Saturday in Charlottetown.
The game was a defensive battle that went back and forth for the entire first half, with the only score coming off a Privateer punt through the endzone to make it 1-0.
Things picked up in the second half when Privateer Zak Jarvis broke free for a 50-yard rushing score. Colin Trewin followed suit with a 55-yard run to put the Privateers up by a seemingly insurmountable two-score lead going into the fourth quarter.
Jarvis made plays on defence too, picking off a short slant pass from Timberwolves' quarterback Brian Mahoney and returning it 45 yards for another Privateer score. Trewin iced the win by rushing for another touchdown at the end of the game.
Cory Ford had a single-point reception catch after a touchdown for the Privateers as well. Charlottetown was 1 for 4 on conversion attempts.
The Privateers move on to play the Summerside Spartans in the Bantam League Championship next weekend.
